The Roseville Police Department unveiled a new mobile application designed to enhance communication between law enforcement and community members.
The RosevillePD Connect app provides residents with direct access to police services, real-time crime alerts, and the ability to report non-emergency incidents from their smartphones. The free app allows users to submit tips anonymously, report quality-of-life issues like graffiti or abandoned vehicles, and receive push notifications about public safety concerns in their neighborhoods.
Users can also access crime maps, view traffic incidents, and find information about community policing programs and events. Police Chief David Dexheimer emphasized the app's role in modern community policing: 'This technology bridges the gap between our department and the residents we serve.
It makes reporting easier and keeps everyone informed about what's happening in their community.' The department worked with a California-based software company to develop the platform over the past year. The app includes features specifically requested by community members during public input sessions, including the ability to track the status of submitted reports and receive updates when issues are resolved.
Spanish-language support is available, and additional languages will be added based on community needs. Since its soft launch two weeks ago, more than 3,000 residents have downloaded the app, and officers have responded to over 200 non-emergency reports submitted through the platform.
